Mr. Chef's is one of only a few Chinese restaurants in Aventura, but they are all can't-miss, above-average places for a memorable meal. OVERVIEW:
The food at Mr. Chef's is right up there with Aventura's other two Chinese restaurants, P.F. Chang's and China Bistro. I'll say this, there are not a ton of Chinese restaurants in town, but the ones that we do have are quite good. A few things make me want to come back to Mr. Chef's. First, the prices are much more palatable here than at China Bistro at the Waterways Shoppes. Next is the undeniable assertion that Mr. Chef's offers a much quieter and refined dining experience than P.F. Chang's, as it's smaller and more intimate. And finally, it's great that Mr. Chef's has nearly two dozen entrées on its lunch menu, with everything priced at $7.95 or $8.95. Mr. Chef's is in that awkward area of Loehmann's Plaza underneath The Venture condo building, but at least it's right on the corner facing the street, so it's not quite as hidden as Fuji Hana. In all honesty, though, I love the fact that it's a quiet, subdued restaurant. Mr. Chef's is a very solid spot with a vast menu. The spicy conch appetizer is a great starter. So too are the coconut shrimp. Beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, and duck choices are many. I've eaten here four times and have never been disappointed.
